Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of EL Expenses (the "Service"), operated by Edgewise Labs ("we", "us", "our"), an unincorporated business based in Canada. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The service
EL Expenses is a household expense tracker made up of a Telegram bot and a web dashboard. You can send receipt photos to the bot, which uses AI to read details such as merchant, amount, and date; record and categorize expenses; split shared costs; and view spending reports. You capture expenses in Telegram and subscribe and manage your account on the web.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Subscriptions and billing
The Service offers a free plan and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis — monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose — and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time; your paid access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices and plan features may change, and we will give notice of material changes before they affect you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or infringe anyone's rights.
- Resell or provide the Service to third parties without our permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Your data
Your expense data and receipts remain yours. Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI receipt extraction will always be accurate — you are responsible for reviewing the figures the Service records. The Service is not accounting, tax, or financial advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edgewise Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If you continue to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
